Production backend modernization

Context

The production backend still ran the business but blocked change: fragile APIs, little observability, and a justified fear of a big bang. It had to be modernised without interrupting collection.

Approach

We isolated the seams, introduced APIs and events at the edges, then shifted traffic progressively. Each step had a rollback criterion and measurable observability.

What it demonstrates

• Service kept running throughout the migration
• APIs and events in place on the critical path
• Enough observability to operate without guesswork
• A technical roadmap the internal team can continue
